Slide Arrange A Funeral Plan

Our bespoke Coles Funeral Plans start from as little as £6.23 per week.

It can be daunting to think about making your own funeral arrangements. But pre-planning your funeral is one of the most considerate things you can do for the family and friends you are leaving behind. Plus, it means you can celebrate your life your way and arrange the service to the smallest detail.

Pre-paying for your funeral is also a sound financial decision. Funeral costs increase, on average, 80% every decade. But by pre-paying, you ensure you pay today’s prices, and your family is protected against these rising costs, no matter what.

With easy, flexible payment options starting from just £6.23 a week, you can spread the cost and ensure you have the funeral that fulfils your wishes and is truly reflective of you, and your life.

A meeting with our Funeral Plan team takes just one hour of your time. Plus, we offer a no-obligation consultation so you can change your mind at any time

Reasons our customers have chosen to take out a Funeral Plan

What is a Funeral Plan?

A funeral plan allows you to pay for your funeral in advance – either in a lump sum or in monthly instalments. Your funeral wishes are clearly documented, and the plan freezes the costs at today’s prices. Funeral plans are available through many providers, not all of which are funeral directors.

When you purchase a funeral plan directly with us, you have the reassurance that your money is protected. You select how you wish to pay and, depending on your choice, your money is paid into the Golden Charter Trust or one of the UK’s leading life assurance companies. The Golden Charter Trust is a separate entity, run by an independent board of trustees, whose sole purpose is to manage the trust’s funds.

Why take out a Funeral Plan with Coles?

When you take out a funeral plan with Coles Funeral Directors, you are fixing the price of your funeral at today’s cost; we will never add additional charges later.

Our award-winning team is here to guide you through the process of personalising your plan and will advise you as to the best options available for your budget, so that you can:

  • Protect your loved ones from the financial burden of paying for your funeral
  • Pay at today’s prices and protect against rising future costs
  • Plan the funeral that suits your wishes, whilst relieving your family of the burden
  • Choose from easy, flexible payment options
  • Rest assured that all your affairs are in order and when the time comes, your funeral will be exactly as you wish it to be.

Safe in the knowledge you’ve chosen the 3-time winner of Golden Charter’s Funeral Planner of the Year and Family Business of the Year and that your money is protected by the UK’s leading life assurance company.

How To Arrange A Funeral Plan with Coles

It can be difficult to think about arranging your own funeral and that is completely natural. However, anyone who has taken out a plan will tell you of the satisfaction gained from putting your affairs in order and reflecting on the most appropriate arrangements.

Your plan should reflect your personal choices and funeral wishes. It’s why our team take the time to meet with you in the comfort of your own home or at our comfortable funeral homes and walk you through every detail, including:

  • Style of funeral – burial vs cremation preference – and location
  • Service type – religious/non-religious
  • Coffin selection
  • Transport requirements
  • Flower preferences
  • Order of service
  • Music & hymns
  • Memorial stones
  • Any additional extras such as Will writing, probate and estate planning

When all the arrangements have been discussed, we will calculate the cost of the plan – and discuss any changes you wish to make – before taking any payment. There are never any hidden costs, and we will always work to your budget.

From as little as £6.23 a week and 1 hour of your time – you can have the peace of mind that when the time comes, your funeral is taken care of.

My funeral wishes are included in my Will. Do I still need a funeral plan?

Wills are often left unread until after the funeral, so your wishes may not be passed on until after the service. Plus, planning ahead in this way does not allow you to access a fixed price funeral at today’s cost.

Are there any external costs I need to be aware of?

There are third party charges such as crematorium costs etc that are outside of our control. All Coles Funeral Plans include a £1,200 disbursements allowance which is inclusive of a £249 admin fee to Golden Charter (the plan provider). This is a fee taken by Golden Charter to set up the plan and for the necessary administration.

What will my loved ones need to do when the time comes?

It just takes a quick call to our team for the plan to be activated and we will deal with everything else. The burden of funeral arrangements will be taken away from your loved ones so they can focus on what really matters.

How can I pay for my funeral plan?

There are various, flexible payment options for all needs and budgets.

  • One-off lump sum payment – You can rest assured that everything is settled in advance
  • Monthly instalments – Instalments paid over 1-30 years
  • Low-cost fixed payments – Paid into a life insurance scheme, fully covered after two years, and paid until your 90th birthday.

If you have any further questions about our payment options, our team would be happy to help.
